Marmee’s response…
When I told her today was Monday. ;(
Sometimes it’s hard to believe that Marmee was ever not a part of our family and our home.
We found her at the local rescue. They had her isolated for over a long time due to recurrent bouts of the sniffles, so no one had really gotten a chance to meet her.
This was the photo I first saw of her online.
She was looking straight at me, and I fell in love with her.
When we met her, she hopped up on my lap and literally tried to crawl inside my stomach like a baby kangaroo.
But when we brought her home, it took a long while for Marmee to learn to trust us, to relax.
The steps were small, but little by little she came to know that we were her family. You could almost see her beginning to realize that she didn’t need to be scared anymore. That she could let go of the bad memories, let in the good ones.
That this was the family she had always wanted and longed for.
The family that was going to allow her to be her sweet, loving self.
The family that was going to love her right back.
Yes indeed, our sweet girl is home. And she knows that Monday, and every day, is Marmee day!

Welcome to Marmee Monday, and I have to say that the holiday weekend here at our home on Cape Cod was definitely one tailor made for ginger cats.
Plenty of sunshine in doorways…
Beautiful views…
And time for reflection.
Total peace and quiet, save for the rude interruption of a leaf blower nearby.
All in all, lots of time for meditation…
Catching up on some much needed grooming…
Chin scritching…
And yoga stretches.
Yesindeedy, it was a ginger cat kinda’ weekend… And what could be better than that?
Thanks for visiting me here at Images of Cape Cod!
