As August approaches, I look forward to seeing our great blue herons in the marsh.
They get a bit scarce in July, seeking out the quieter inlets and coves once the tourists descend.
By August they seem to emerge again, and you see them out there with the swallows and the ospreys.
I saw a real beauty this morning.
Moving across the marsh with such slow yet deliberate steps…
Heading for the nearby channel…
Captivating me in the process with its awe-inspiring grace.
Thank you, thank you…
