Bobbing Buffleheads

Ahh, the little buffleheads.

One of my favorite ducks here on the Cape during the winter.

Bird121-MedThey’re pretty small, really..

Bird153-MedAnd like little black and white rubber duckies, under the water they dive and then —-

Up they pop, like plastic fishing bobbers!

Bird393And so amazing… From a distance they appear to be all black and white.

ForestBeachLoop725-MedBut the closer you get, the more COLOR you find. Especially with the gents!

Bird390They’ll be leaving us soon for the summer, so for now I’m just going to enjoy them for all they’re worth!  🙂

Saquetucket8-MedThanks for visiting me here at Images of Cape Cod!

buffleheads are my favorite birds. the males look like pandas, and the females look like ducklings. 🙂 cool shot of the common eider, too!
